Welcome Message

Curbing global warming to avoid climate crisis has become a major challenge for mankind today. Nuclear power with its low carbon nature should and will play a significant role in realizing a carbon-neutral world in 2050. Operating the current nuclear fleet safely and economically, green decommissioning of aging nuclear power stations as well as creating innovative designs of the next generation reactors, especially the small modular reactors, will be the focus points for our discussions. These constitute the main theme of “Sustainable Development of Nuclear Power” for NUTHOS-13 to be held in September 5-10, 2022 at Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Taiwan is well known as Formosa—the beautiful island—and a “butterfly kingdom”. With the favorable latitude and landscape rising from sea level to mountain tops of about 3000- 4000 m, Taiwan is home to more than 430 species of butterflies. Join us to watch the flapping of these colorful butterflies in beautiful Taiwan, brainstorm the development of nuclear power for the sustainable era, and create the butterfly effect that will benefit our society.

Given the large uncertainties of the travel restrictions of different countries due to the pandemic of COVID-19, the option of having a hybrid one is preserved in our new arrangement. In order to make the hybrid conference affordable, the venue of the physical part of conference has been changed to Macronix Building at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Hsinchu City, Taiwan. More information will be provided shortly. Looking forward seeing you all in September 2022 on the beautiful campus of NTHU to share your view and research results about the nuclear power.

Paper Submission Extension
Due to the requests from some colleagues, the deadline for full paper submission is extended to April 20, 2022. Please complete the submission through the portal here and contact the secretariat via papers@nuthos-13.org should you need further assistance.

1.14.2022

In response to the requests from some colleagues and the COVID-19 pandemic control policy of specific nations, NUTHOS-13 is open to colleagues by sending abstracts with template here to papers@nuthos-13.org before March 6, 2022. We will notify the review result as soon as possible. All the accepted abstracts need to prepare the full paper with template here and the full paper submission portal will open from February 10 to March 20, 2022.
